Teak chair 475

10 Jul 2011

Time to go outside since it is summertime. Outdoor furniture has been gaining importance over the years. The garden becomes an extension of the house. Design plays an important role in this evolution. Design is a true vocation for Alias, the brand of the chair we will talk about today.

Collection designed by Alberto Meda

Alberto Meda, born 1945 in Tremezzina, Italy, studied mechanical engineering at the Milan Polytechnic. From 1972-79 he was technical director for Kartell. Freelancing since 1979 for companies such as Alias. The collection Teak has the combination that does it for me, the coldness of aluminum combined with the warmness of teak wood.

Teak 475

Teak 475 is a stackable chair from lightweight die-cast aluminum that uses wood for the surfaces that create the seat and backrest: the teak lists hollow out in the lumbar support area and the seat, thus adding elasticity, ergonomics and comfort.

These are some really nice chairs! Is there another design with an armwrest as well?

    Thanks
