Scrapwood wallpaper

16 Dec 2010

The find of the week brings us to Holland and was a tip mailed by Annetje. Let's assume that you love wood and that you want to create a romantic, warm, rustic feeling in that particular room. Using real wood would mean a lot of work isn't it? Now there is a solution from Piet Hein Eek.

Scrapwood wallpaper

This beautiful wallpaper from Piet Hein Eek mimics the look of real planks of wood on paper perfectly. The top-quality FSC certified paper is available in six different wood plank types. The rolls aren't printed in any particular pattern, so each roll contains 4m² of unique scrapwood to transform your walls. I'm pretty sure doing a room like this or even just one wall will make people look.

Another example of how the scrapwood wallpaper looks in a room.

Great find! It looked so real at first sight!

Studio Ditte also has this kind of wallpaper.

I like it a lot, but I prefer Piet Hein Eek’s version :)

Wallpaper look is pretty cool, I think it would work great with clean lines of trim, baseboards and clean line furniture. It would give some coziness to the space. However, if not careful it could breathe disaster: the last picture you posted, which has a bed with a “put together from scraps” look along with the wall is starting to look like something from the slums of Uganda.
