NESTREST

18 Jan 2011

Even when it is still Winter outside it doesn't hurt to look a little bit ahead to what Summer could offer us. Summertime means spending a lot of time outdoors. Hopefully in the nicest possible way. One item that I wouldn't mind having in my garden right after the jump.

NESTREST by Dedon

I'm sure the two Parisian designers Daniel Pouzet and Fred Frety took some inspiration from nature for this NESTREST by Dedon. It looks like an over-sized bird's nest. Dedon says it is perfect for relaxation, meditation and open-air conversations. No doubt it is! Too bad I haven't got a garden (yet) with a tree strong enough to hook this NESTREST up. You'll need a strong tree I assume and in my case that might take a few years. Jokingly I thought, when I finally have a tree I'll be too old to clim in it :)

Standing lounger

In the same situation as I am? No problem, NESTREST is also available as a standing lounger. Perfect for when you don't have a tree or other item to hang it or when dangling in the air isn't your thing.

NESTREST is also available as a standing lounger.

NESTREST is made of an especially strong DEDON fiber (4 cm wide, instead of 2 cm), guaranteeing a sturdy and solid weave with excellent properties.

DEDON Fiber

NESTREST is made of an especially strong DEDON fiber (4 cm wide, instead of 2 cm), guaranteeing a sturdy and solid weave with excellent properties. DEDON says the fiber is weatherproof and environmentally friendly, as well as durable and beautiful. This hanging lounger comes in Natural or Chalk finish.

An over-sized bird’s nest offering you a secluded, suspended sanctuary and unusual meeting place: it’s the perfect place for relaxation, meditation and open-air conversations.

Love the idea of getting away from the world and be cosy in my own suspended sanctuary. Another item added to the list of items that I would love to own.

Creators of the NESTREST, an innovative new hanging pod woven from supersize strands of DEDON Fiiber, Daniel Pouzet and Fred Frety are two of Paris’s most intriguing design talents.
