A house with a view! In fact the whole house is designed to include the beautiful scenery and incorporate them within the most significant spaces in the house. The location is perfect for this as it is right in front of the Mediterranean sea, in one of the most beautiful areas of the Spanish coast. Not a bad view to wake up to! I also love the geometric approach to it.
The first time I saw the following product I immediately thought oh no not another copy cat. It wouldn’t be the first and certainly not the last. However this isn’t the case as Mal Furniture
, a Dutch, Eindhoven based design label has been granted a limited in time homage to Charles
and Ray Eames
. They re-created one of the greatest design icons of the fifties in plastic.
Last week I was invited to go to the unveiling of a special bicycle celebrating the 70th birthday of Eddy Merckx
. The event took place at Trade Mart where you can also visit a beautiful expo about Eddy Merckx/Jacky Ickx
. I'll write about that expo in an upcoming article.
Another year has past and it’s traditional to set goals in January. Many good resolutions to make this year better than the previous one. I’m not that kind of girl though as I don’t need any goals to ride my bicycle. I just do! Oh… and I just designed a bicycle too. Find out more after the jump.
On Tuesday I took a little road trip to something I always look forward to. It’s a biannual event that takes place at the Kortrijk Xpo
. You could say it’s our 'Milan design week
The bicycle is doing very well in 2014 with many new ones finding their way to the market. Finding the right one for you can be hard though. For me personally that would be one that doesn’t stop you from going off the beaten path and with a distinguished design/look. The bicycle that we are going to see after the jump would qualify that description and is coming in the Spring of 2015.
Good things come in small doses. You had to wait quite a bit but I finally had some time to share what I have been collecting. Hope you'll enjoy what you are about to see after the jump.
The lamps that I am sharing today are created by PER/USE
, a new Belgian design brand launched in the Summer of 2013. They are based in Marke and offer a strong mix of furniture and accessories designed by Belgian and international designers. The functional collection, with a distinguished and timeless character, however not missing a contemporary twist, is inspired by known names as well as emerging design personalities. PER/USE works with a combination of new upcoming and established designers, Belgian and international, such as Lucie Koldova, Patrick Séha, José Cabrita, Frederik Delbart, etc.
It doesn't happen often that a new bike design grabs my attention. This one however done by Nike's former design director Eric Duvauchelle
has managed to do that. It took 18 months of design, engineering and passion to bring it to life. The bicycle's name is CYLO
and the frame was designed in partnership with ARRO.STUDIO
from Paris, France.
A little workspace somewhere in your house that doesn't take up that much space and isn't too bad on the eyes. Impossible? With a bit of detective work chances are high that you'll find something that fits both needs. Below you'll find a selection of small desks that I wouldn't mind putting in my living room.
