The break between Xmas and New Year was over before I even fully realized that two weeks have past. I’ve made some great progress working on my new blog during that break. Work has been in full swing already so I hope that I can spend my weekends working on it further. I started sharing some random bits on my Twitter feed. If you follow you’ll understand why it is taking so long, plus I don’t like half work ;)

You may have noticed that things have slowed down here a bit. I’m also diverting all interviews and keep answering mails to a minium for the time being. The reason for all this is that I am working on Veerle’s blog 3.0. The journey was long and hard!

A while ago I received an invitation from Jon Hicks to join a project called the Travelling Moleskines. It immediately triggered my interest to accept the invite as I love to sketch…

I’ve been thinking about redesigning my blog’s logo icon for a while now, but didn’t find a moment so far to spend much time on it. Finally, a few weeks ago I thought I had nailed it down and came up with this simple icon…

One year after I graduated, I decided to go freelancing. This was something a friend and I decided to do if we didn’t find a fulltime job before the end of June of that same year, back in 1992. We got to know each other at the ad agency where I did an internship for about a month. This was a few years before I met Geert...

South by Southwest Interactive (Austin, TX - US) was really a blast as usual. Our session was about exploring the challenges in color combinations as a key to successful website designs. Advice on what tools you’ll need in your arsenal to be inspired. Navigating through cultural and accessibility differences in color and showcasing some of the best uses of color the web has to offer…

I already talked about it a few years ago but since so much has changed here on the blog and many new readers don’t dig that deep in the archive I’m reviving this post inspired by Jason Santa Maria’s lastest post about his first website.

The day after the announcement of the Apple iPhone 3G I was really excited to see Belgium among the 22 countries who would have the device available at July 11th. Now a few days later it seems that the flags of Belgium have been moved on the Apple.be site to “soon available”. I understand that things here aren’t exactly the same as in most other countries because it is illegal here to sell contract/phone bundling in other words sim locked phones.

It’s not that easy these days to find talented people and our partner site Authentic Jobs has been helping in that area since 2005. Recently Dan Cederholm from Simplebits and Tina from Swissmiss and The Big Noob joined our little network too. All places that are visited by standards aware designers and developers and add value to the network.

I am just back home and trying to fight off this jet lag thing. After being away for 3 weeks in the US it feels good to be back home again. Now trying to sort out the huge backlog of email and startup working again. Before trying to resume regular things here I want to share the pictures that I took in New York City.
