So after the big rush to get ready for trip I was so glad that we made in time. To make everything go as smooth as butter I checked in online at the British Airways website so we didn’t have anymore unnecessary delays. The airport taxi picked us up at noon and we arrived at Brussels Airport at 12.45pm. Plenty of time to relax a bit and wait for the information board to show the right gate.

Today’s topic has been on my mind on several occasions but I always postponed writing about it. Something that happened on Saturday triggered this again. It’s an example out of the real world. One of those things that is on our to-do list is some new office/house furniture. So we visited a design shop and after some looking around we kinda found some great ideas. Before making a final decision we thought it would be a great idea to have some interior advice to see if all fits well in the available space.

Yes the lords of the music industry are at again, this time in The Netherlands (and don’t get me started on the Stichting Thuiskopie). Geert and I are listeners of the Daily Source Code from Adam Curry and we love the Mashups, Hit Test from Jan Polet or the Backtracks Podcast Quiz. A fun way to give our brains a good workout.

A quick update that we made some positive progress with the KBC since my previous post.

This post is a bit of a rant towards KBC, a big Belgium bank. I use KBC Online, their online product for wire transfers and other tasks. Now the part that really gets on my nerves is their stupid system requirements.

I’ve discovered Web Standards around end 2003 and now we are almost 2 years further but I still feel a bit like the lone gunmen in Belgium when it comes to general usage of proper W3C guidelines. Ok, there are probably a few that uses them but it’s like a needle in a hay stack. We often work together with the top 20 internet agencies in Belgium. In most of these projects we are responsible for the design and XHTML templates.

One of the coolest technologies that I enjoy using is WIFI. It has been out for a while and more and more hotels and public areas have hotspots. But like with any new technology or hype there always people that are trying to make a ridiculous amount of money because it is hot.

First let me paint a picture of the thoughts that I had about Canada. I always assumed that Canada was a country that had great respect for its citizens, the environment and its animals. It is one of the countries that I’m planning on visiting in this lifetime just because of the beautiful surroundings.

By surfing some sites lately I’ve noticed that Safari’s pop-up window blocker sometimes fails. So after some closer examination it seems that it is not only Safari who is suffering. Most of the time it’s not pop-up but pop-under windows that get through. The first site where I noticed this behavior was macosrumors.com (they have disabled the perpetrator now). It seems that this is the result of new ad delivery techniques that seek to subvert traditional blocking systems.

Boy do I hate comment spammers, they make life miserable! :-( Right now my blog is under attack and I loose lots of time in research to find the bastard to block him permanently. He’s using spoofed IP addresses and this makes it extra nasty to find who is doing this. A Google search brought me to the conclusion that I’m not the only one right now who is suffering from the same comment’s spammer.
