Floramagic desktop

Girl with dog was a great success and people seemed to love it , so thanks for that :) Today something completely different, my new desktop art ;) In honor of Spring (which never seems to arrive here in Belgium) I bring you “Floramagic”.
When it comes to desktops my personal preference goes out to the less overloaded designed ones, so in essence they can't be too busy. I also prefer a darker background because it's easier on the eye, and from what I experienced in the past, I also keep them around longer. So my starting point was using a darker tone and playful colors to set a Spring kinda feeling.
I've also created an animation (in Flash) so that you can see how this drawing came to life.

I think what gets me most about this is the fact that you started with such a complex set of curves and then ended up with just that one flower shape. When I used to do digital art, I found myself going from complex to simple before I felt finished.
Personally, the dog is my favorite part. But the subtle detail in this piece is great.

I love the fact that it has a black background. Not too intrusive, with just a hint of colour. It makes me happy! Thanks for sharing it.

I like the imaginative flowers and leaves - also the bow-wow doggie is very cute and perky looking. You could almost make a little cartoon movie out of it - have the dog do some tricks, or just bound through the grass.

This is gorgeous, the whole site is great too! I’m using your pic as my desktop background. It goes really well with Windows Blinds theme Aura. Not that you need that cos you’re working with a mac.

Lovely! I’m using it as my desktop, and I bet it will be staying there awhile. It makes the desktop look much bigger, somehow, and it’s just very simple and pleasing. :)

Thank you for making the illustration 1280x1024 it looks great. I like the texture and colors you used What I loved most was the way you made the graphic move with the scent/clouds coming off the flower and the trail from the puppy stray away great job.
Overall Fantastic Illustration.
I was wondering what program you used and is kids illustration your forte or will we see something new next.

I downloaded this desktop 4 weeks ago and really love it! I would like to use the motive for a bag I’m making at the moment - nothing commercial, just for myself because I can’t find a bag I really like and your work is so lovely! :) Would that be alright? Pics would be provided when its finished, of course!
