Paul Rogers

Paul Rogers is an illustrator and designer with over 23 years experience in the design field from Pasadena, California.

What I like about Paul's work is that it does not have the computer feeling to it. The dots illustration is a masterpiece with thousands of dots. He had to draw and place each one by hand. Once he established a basic size for the dots, he had to maintain that throughout the whole thing. Adjustments were needed in order to give the proper overall feeling that it was created by hand, not some mechanical fill, so the man has patience!

What inspires Paul?
I've always drawn inspriration from the great poster artists of the early to mid 20th century, and I think of myself more as a graphic designer than an illustrator.
Where can we find you when you're not behind your Mac?
At the drawing board, mostly. At Dodger Stadium with my son, Nate or teaching my daughter Alexandra how to paralell park, on a golf course, or in a jazz club listening to some music with my wife, Jill.

I like the style, it kinda reminds me a little of a style that Tektronix used for their printer many years ago. The dotted piece is impressive indeed.

Beautiful work. It reminds me of an agency I used to work for. One of the owners was very big into all the war-era propaganda/buy bonds posters. It was the theme of the agency. Even the logo was war-era-looking.
