Who are my visitors?
2004 at 02.36 am posted by Veerle
2 days ago I made a post about design trends to give you some inspiration and ideas and to lay out an overview of the different popular styles these days. One of my members, Reinier made this comment:
"great post, although these trends are (should be?) known to many designers already, it's nice to see them shortlisted here."
This made me wondering who my readers are. I'm not just asking this out of curiosity. One of the reasons I ask is because I was planning to add some more Photoshop tips & tricks in the future and to post about design in general. This way I get some kind of an idea whether it would be interesting to do this, and if so how advanced or how easy the tips should be.
So I'm just wondering, are most of you web/graphic designers? Would you be interested in reading some designer's advice in general or posts about design related matters?

Count me as a designer, Veerle. Some Tips and tricks about Photoshop or XHTML or CSS would be great.
2
Same thing as Bouvier for me. I’m a designer in spe so it’s useful to learn new things or tricks and tips.
Actually I’m interested in about everything that has to do with web development (CSS/XHTML/Photoshop/Articles about webdesign ...)
3
A Java developer, that’s me, and very interested in web design stuff. So, tips and tricks would indeed be great. :)
4
I’m more of a writer than a designer, though I like toying around with websites and lay-outs. I’ve picked up some basic knowledge here and there through ‘cutting and pasting’ from existing open sources, and sites like yours, and I’m always eager to learn more.
5
Count me as designer too. I am developing graphics in Photoshop and web sites using mostly Dreamweaver.
6
I think you could call me a php programmer. I do use PSP instead of Photoshop. Design tips are always welcome.
7
“So I’m just wondering, are most of you web/graphic designers? “
Yes!
“Would you be interested in reading some designer’s advice in general or posts about design related matters?”
Yes!

I’m a developer who’s getting into the design world.
I see this blog as one of the best and most interesting in Belgium (and propably a lot of other people think the same). So I think it’s a nice place to discuss web related things. (really liked the design, size matters, html mail,… postings).
Ofcourse it’s always good to lighten up things with personal posts imo :)
9
I’m a web designer, but one with no formal design training, so tips and tricks are always appreciated.

mainly just interested in Beauty ! ;-) I prefer to do some web/graphic designing myself, because of the fun it brings!
Daily matters: consulting, advice, business improvement, life cycle management implementation for end-users, setting up and creation of new businesses, plain logic thinking, no rocket science, no code for me ;-) ( so...no art like you guys and gals create ;-( ) and of course ... psychology/ psychotactics...and that’s were we me(e)t ! The WIIFM-factor*
That’s were the fun part starts ...I need creatives like you to trigger and tease!
Exciting huh! ;-)
* What’s in it for me

Web design is a hobby for me. I’m very interested in designer insights and design & development tutorials.
12
A wannabe photographer fighting with CSS. Design tips would be great :-)
13
Client- and server-side programmer here. But I’d definitely welcome photoshop tuts :-)
14
I am into it for my hobby, my interests are design, Illustrator, Photoshop, ... I would like to learn more about CSS/XML/HTML too. I started blogging a while ago, and it would be cool if I could make my pages total CSS validated. But, I need to learn a lot though, so tips are more than welcome.
Like someone else already said, these pages are the BEST in Belgium. Very cool!

I am a freelance graphic designer and student. My courses include basic web deisign. I have taught myself CSS, but could learn more. I really like the way you have designed this site. I’m also dabbling in PHP, so any server side scripting would be nice.
I also started a design blog over at Graphically Speking, which is more focused toward print design/advertising, with a bit a web design. That’s my forte.
16
Any sort of tutorial is good as far as I’m concerned. Design, whether it be visual or programming, is a hobby for me, so everything is appreciated :)
17
I’m more of a html / css veteran (7 years now....ugh I feel old!) who got cast into the pits of design....and liked it!
My skills with photoshop are (in my eyes) limited, but I am working on a site that would bring coding and design together called Cascading Lounge. (more general coding buildup and a stronger focus on design practicality than aListApart)
If you like we could collab on this...I’d be very interested in that. I’ve already got a team (working on gameover.com) who are strong on the coding part, but a real designer I’ve yet to add.
Plus, ik spreek nog nederlands ook :)
Mail me if interested.

print journalist by profession; web designer for fun. i love doing it, and i love hearing tips and tricks—and more insight to how you do projects, from start to finish.
i also have an addiction to photoshop, and quark xpress. I use dreamweaver for some of my web pages; other times i just open a text document.
I’d love to learn more about CSS.

Hi all, I guess I did expect comments like this… but I never thought there would be SOooo many! This is great, thanks everyone! I got the message ;-)
@AkaXaka thanks for the offer but I’m afraid that my biggest problem right now is time. I’m just flat out with work and I need the time I have left for the new design of my professional website (working on bits and pieces since this Summer :-S). I really need to get this up as soon as possible, this is really too important for me.
And to all “lurkers” out there :-D don’t hesitate leave your suggestion too! :-)

Oh boy, I cannot even ignore your weblog for a few days, or I’ll miss ending up in your columns with a quote! :-D
Anyway, adding to the statistics: I am a graphic - and webdesigner, Mac OS X systems and application (support) consultant for creative agengies. As wel as being a contributing editor to Dutch Mac OS X website http://www.macosx.nl
Anyway, I like your visibles *and* your words - it’s a casual but interesting read. Keep it up and take your own course, I like the surprises overhere every now and then.

Yours truly is a bit-of-everything. Web designer / Photoshop enthusiast and anime lover.
I’m currently learning the ropes of validating my xhtml markup and css markup.
Reading your blog is something like a fresh and new experience, each entry. I learn a lot of new things and re-discover some stuffs.
What will I be most interested in, for future entries...? How about more “advanced” tips on CSS and validating xhtml markup which includes JavaScript and Macromedia Flash on it? Sounds really fun.

Hi Veerle, like attracts like, I’m a webdesigner, based in Brummen, the Netherlands, I use photoshop, fireworks, flash, director, bbedit a lot. Most interested in css, php, as & flv. Inspired most by zeldman, alistapart and of course zengarden!
Most of all macfanatic. Got a museum of many oldies.
26
Hi all, I am no designer, one of the few that are not it seems :-)
But it’s always nice to see Veerle’s work, so go ahead!
27
well, it seems to me that content will attract readers accordingly. Content about design will attract designers, content about programming will attract programmers.... Just a thought!
28
Webdesigner. College Degree in Graphic Design. Always want to know how to control design and object placement

Eh? at all!
Poet. :)
Find your blog very lush and lyrical and love the fact that you take pains to explain design so well.
