Traffic usage monitor

2004 at 02.58 am posted by Veerle Pieters

Does anybody knows a good tool to monitor your download and upload usage. It has to look good so that it won’t annoy me when sitting on my desktop. I know I am demanding :-) I also don’t need those geeky options, just a clean and simple interface to quickly get an idea of what is used. It has to run on Windows XP. Examples for MacOS X are also welcome ;-) Thanks in advance.

I’d recommend DU Meter - it’s non-intrusive and highly customizable. You might want to check the screenshots too.

I use ISP monitor.  It’s compatible with belgian ISPs (like Telenet, Skynet, etc.).

The only other one I know (and used for a while) is Bandwith Monitor Pro. I’m using DU meter atm though.

Thanks everybody for helping me with this, I much appreciate it. I’ve chosen for DU Meter. It seems like a pefect tool to me ;-) The interface could be better but that’s the designer in me talking :-)

DU Meter is just fine for Windows, but we Mac users are much better off with another nice little app… http://homepage.mac.com/rominar/net.html
