Too much money to burn… what to do?

2005 at 02.01 am posted by Veerle

With the holiday season in full swing what do you think the super rich do with their money. Some have a private jet but others love a more luxurious form of transport. They all arrived in Ibiza port with a cruise liner called ”The World”. This boat consists of luxury apartments that cost somewhere between € 2.5 and € 8.6 Million and have up to 6 bathrooms and bedrooms.

All 657 passengers on board can enjoy life’s little luxuries. Need some examples? What do you think about: gold leaf toilet rolls, caviar face creams, champagne baths and last but not least a plastic surgeon so that they can have a new nose job in every port! What about golf? Onboard, there is a sophisticated simulator so you can practice your golf on 53 of the world’s greatest courses. They also have a state-of-the-art computerised training system that videotapes your swing from two different angles, allowing you to analyse your flaws and to correct them.

This € 300 Million boat travels all year round and docks in 120 ports and 46 countries. Its home base is in Miami. It seems that Ibiza port is becoming more and more popular to receive cruise ships this Summer. Compared with 2004 there is a 32% increase. (Source: Ibizabound.com)

Just saw that it is coming to Antwerp too. Maybe I’ll order a ticket now or NOT ;-) If you want to keep a lit on your wallet take the virtual tour.

Dammit my next week holiday sounds poor now :-p

It’s not all that great here on the ship, you get fed up with the sun all day, the motion of the boat gets on your nerves and even champagne on tap gets boring after a while.

Still, at least the pool is nice for a refreshing swim .. if you look closely, you can just about see me having a dip at the far end of the pool.

You know, that obscene level of opulence doesn’t even sound enjoyable. Rich people are quite a boring lot.

And rich people sounding boring is even worse. :)
Apart from that, when is that boat docking in Belgium? ;)

@Denis, imagine that ;-)

@GaBuBu, oh I wish :-) No this year it will be no Ibiza for me, it is Cyprus. I’m leaving next Wednesday.

@lazymouse, LOL! :-) And thanks, you too have a great Summer… Seems like you have the ship all to yourself there. Maybe you can ask the captain to go set a course for Cyprus. See you next week?

@Sven you don’t mean that! Well it’ll need to be a very very very eye-candy one and we need at least an award or 2 :-D
