Some cool Chill-Out songs for free
2004 at 02.44 am posted by Veerle
Wow, now I discovered something interesting on the Jaguar X Type website. Certainly worth sharing with my loyal readers :-) On this site you can download some quality MP3 songs for free. The free songs are from “Kaskade”, “Zero 7” and DB & Stakka.
In my personal collection there are already some songs of Kaskade. Featured on the Album Hed Kandi - Beach House 04.03 ”Kaskade - Feeling The Night” and also on my friend Roger Sanchez Release Yourself 2003 pre-party part Kaskade ft. Mellisa - What You Are 2 Me. Together with Zero 7 this is some seriously cool Chill-Out music for you to enjoy.
Apple’s 100 million iTunes downloaded song was also a tune by Zero 7: a remix of Somersault by Dangermouse (of the Grey Album fame). I recommend downloading the Ben Watts remix, one of my favorites btw. The Live songs aren’t bad either. Zero 7 is one of the best UK bands I know.
The last band there is DB and Stakka and they have special blend of ambient drum and bass. These exclusive tracks will be released mid-2004 on the duos first full CD release. I didn’t know them but I see a future for them.
Enjoy the (legal) free music here ;-)

Thank you for this hint :-)
Guess how long I needed to figure out that Jaguar had nothing to do with Mac (this time)? About 15 Minutes, which I spent staring at the site, wondering about the missing apple-logos (and such...)

@Jezter, my pleaure, as always ;-)
@kronn, so sorry for that LOL :-) To be honest I was doubting if I should mention it… guess this answers my question :-)

Nothing broke, honestly. However, it reminded me that there actually is something like a “real life” out there.
As a cure, I’m now listening to the music you mentioned, doing something absolutely not related to my computer ... cleaning up in front of my computer.

Veerle, thanks for the pointer to great chill-out music. Interesting how automobile marketing (ads, commercials, etc.) have become a great way of discovering new music! :) Keep up the great blog!

My sister works as a nanny for Zero 7’s manager, so keep buying their songs, she needs a pay rise!!

Better yet, check out Mercedes Benz version - you can download the music or play straight through the site (and not have to listen to them in WMA format). Don’t get me wrong, I dig Zero 7 and Thievery Corporation, but this is chocked full of Independent goodness!

I am not usally a fan of the ambient drum and bass but I like DB & Stakka: Revolution very much.
