Memories - Part II
2004 at 07.23 am posted by Veerle
Saturday I had a meeting with Kenneth our PHP wizard. As we were discussing projects a thought that invaded my mind was the funny Apple commercial when they introduced the 17” and 12” PowerBook. And so we decided to make this picture. I guess this says it all… except that I’m “rather” small compared to Kenneth instead of very small as in the commercial.
Kenneth told me that he would have lost his sanity if I didn’t introduce the Mac to him. It made his life so much easier, certainly Mac OS X because it’s all Unix based now. So this prooves that the programmer geeks love it too ;-)
Speaking of geeky, here is a nice tool that executes PHP while writing it. It can do much more such as trying out CSS, creating a whole website etc. It’s called HyperEdit. This brings me to the question of some friends asking me if I know of a place where you can find some old and new commercials from Apple. So here is an archive
2 of my favorites:

Hope you like what you see ;-)

Do you have a larger version of that image of you and Kenneth and the powerbooks? I would like to see it more up close.

You’ll want to see Veerle up closer probably? :-) Sure we have a bigger picture; Veerle has them on her disk.
Cheerio !

We all want! xD

My all time favorite Mac video. Tiny picture, no one seems to know where it came from, but how can you not love it?

I couldn’t get through the workday without my Powerbook, a 15” model. Love em!

I guess I saw this coming… ! For those who want to view the picture a bit bigger ;-)

Thanks for the larger image. For some reason I never realized that you are a woman since most design bloggers are guys. Great pic though, very funny.

HyperEdit is awesome. Its like using BBEdit and Safari but not having to cmd-tab between them every time you want to see a change. Plus, it uses space and renders better than DW. Thanks for the tip.

Hey Veerle, a followup question: How do you like that 17” PB, and what are the strong/weak points? I live and die with my database business on my 15” PB, but my assistant/partner needs a new computer, and I’m wondering whether to just buy him another 15, or give him this one and get myself the 17.
At the office I use it with a large monitor, both displays running, but on the road (a lot) I could always use the larger screen. I’m just wondering what your experience is, having had yours awhile.
Thanks, and yours is one of the best blogs on the net - and I’m not even a webdesigner!
