It’s time to Release Yourself

It has been a while since I did another peek in my cd collection. Yes still using those since we are still waiting for a Belgium iTunes Music Store. Apple says October will bring another launch of new Music stores so let’s keep our fingers crossed that Belgium is on the list.
A bunch of cd’s has been added to the collection and the first one I want to talk about is from my New York friend Roger Sanchez. All closing parties on Ibiza are a thing of the past and another successful year of Release Yourself at party flavor at Pacha.
Roger is back with a third installment in the ‘Release Yourself’ series which is guaranteed listening pleasure. This album sums up the top tracks of his label Stealth Recordings and are mixed by the man who’s made a big mark on the house music scene.
As always the first cd contains pre-party music and lets you slide in some serious day dreaming of past memories of a summer that has past too quickly. My personal favorites on the first cd are Sueno Soul - Tempo Da Solo, Nars feat. Emma - I wanna Know, Amma - Heartbeat (Kaskasde Mix), Ben Watt feat. Sananda Maiterya - A stronger man a track that was performed which I am pretty sure is Terence Trend Darby but under a new name. My hunch seems to be right since I found Sananda Maiterya’s website. Selecting those personal favorites was hard because the man has an ear for those mellow good feel vibes.
With cd 2 we’re back at Pacha as it is Roger in his natural habitat. One thing that I noticed is that most of the tracks contains vocals, a trend that seems to be going on right now. A few of my favorites on cd 2 are Mencha feat. Sumo - Play Me With Your Sound, Stephan Pompanac feat. Clmentine - Morenita (Sanz & Charles Schillings Remix) and Angel Moraes - You Should Have Said (I Love You). It’s one of those cd’s that proves that house music is not necessary boring or monotone sounding.
Listen to a compilation that I created of some of the tracks. (MP3 - 2MB)

Definitely a cool sounding album, not disturbing to listen to while at work. Looking forward to more of your musical taste ;-)

mmmm, will have to hack your mac to get some more of that music into my ears… nice choice!

Sounds great. So you’re mates with Roger Sanchez then. How cool.

@Andy, “mates” is a bit exaggerated, but yes apart from the 3 kisses on the cheek and the fact that we’ve talked a few times very briefly ... 2 times in Ibiza and 1 time here in Belgium (Ghent). He’s a very down-to earth guy and I have the at most respect for him. Actually, he considered to become a graphic designer, if his DJ-ing, his passion for music etc. would come to an end ... which I doubt! He’s too driven and too passionate in what he does.
BTW if you love his music, you should tune in to his show on www.releaseyourself.com I do this every Saturday afternoon to get in the mood :-S Love his jokes in between and the talking etc. he’s a very good DJ, nice voice etc.

I also like to listen to Roger Sanchez and pacha/latin house, unfortunatelly, from Roger I think I only like “Another Chance” and “Nothing To Prove” lol.
I’ve actually discovered this cd entitled “Cape Town 2AM” and it is extremelly cool, not only it has house music but some other cool stuff (as always not a 100Í but the tracks 4,5,6 and 8 are totally awesome.
BTW i’ve listened the sample and is all ok.
