Interested in an iMac?

2005 at 11.24 pm posted by Veerle

Here at Duoh! it’s time to say goodbye to some old but trusty friends who served us well. So like any good parents we are looking for some folks that would take good care of our buddies and give them a pleasant home. I am talking about some original iMacs.

We have 3 of them that got to go. Here are the specs:

iMacs

iMac G3/233MHz Bondi blue (Revision B) SOLD!

  • 4 GB Harddisk
  • 6MB videoram
  • 160MB of Ram
  • 2x USB
  • Ethernet (10/100 baseT)

iMac G3/266MHz Tangerine SOLD!

  • 6 GB Harddisk
  • 6MB videoram
  • 160MB of Ram
  • 2x USB 1.1
  • Ethernet (10/100 baseT)

iMac G3/400MHz DV SE Graphite (Slot-Loading) SOLD!

  • 13 GB Harddisk
  • 8MB videoram
  • 256MB of Ram
  • 2x USB 1.1
  • Ethernet (10/100 baseT)
  • 2x FireWire
  • Video (VGA)

I don't know about the two older ones but the Graphite iMac DV SE can run Mac OS X 10.2 without any trouble. All the machines are in perfect shape and still work reliably. If you are interested please let me know and make an offer. Could be a collector item ;-) They can be admired on Flickr.

Update: It seems you can run Mac OS X on the older models too. Jaguar (10.2) is confirmed by Apple but it seems that 10.3 is possible too.

Veerle - As you know I recently upgraded to a G5 - I sold my old G4 on ebay to a guy here in the Uk who might be interested in buying your gear.

He’s passionately Apple mac and needs second hand stuff for customers and his internet café.

Please email me if you are interested and I’ll let you have his details.

That’s cute. I’m sure they’ll find a nice new home. Macs just never die. I had a really REALLY old Mac LC 475 which I really didn’t have any use for anymore. I placed it in our appartment complex’ entrance hall with a note saying anyone who wants it can have it, will dump it in the trash bin if it hasn’t been taken away in 1 week (knowing this would probably not happen)

It was gone within 24 hours ;)

I’m interested in the iMac G3/400MHz DV SE Graphite (Slot-Loading).  Should I email you an offer?  Or do you have a minimum price in mind?

I wouldn’t mind cutting my teeth with a Mac. Been a PC user for way too long!

If you’re interested in converting another PC user to the world of Mac, drop me a line! Not really bothered much about specs, just want to experiment with the OS.

I would love to pick them up...Especially if one has a DVD drive.

I’ve been wanting to dive into the Mac world for many years now, but am a bit afraid of the higher prices.

I just wanted to know Veerle, what type of camera do you use? Your pictures are beautiful and crisp, always.

@Blair: The pictures are taken with a Canon Digital IXUS 500. I like it very much and it is not that expensive anymore.
