Ibiza - part 1
2004 at 07.04 am posted by Veerle
They say Ibiza is up with the trends and is cosmopolitan, but besides the music and the fashion, I had a VERY hard time to find a descent WiFi hotspot coffee house. And if you ask around most people have no clue what you mean. They hear the word ‘internet’ and they immediately give directions to some dusty back room internet cafe with no wireless connection. Well, some opportunities still exist here.
Still having a bit of heavy head after yesterday’s night out. Went to our first Defected Night at El Divino to watch Dimitri From Paris and Martin Solveig. What a great set it was, especially Dimitri’s, filled with old disco tunes like Chaka Khan, Pet Shop Boys all nicely mixed with some trendy beats. It was a full house and the atmosphere was really great.
Temperatures are still rising here. When we just arrived it was a enjoyable 29°C/84°F but as of today we’ve reached the 35°C/95°F. After I’m leaving here a dip in the pool will definitely be recommended. For those who want to keep up with the latest and greatest of Ibiza town, I’ve spotted two new bars in the old part of the city, Lola’s and Dôme. Both are a bit tucked away, but there’s great music and have a nice terrace.

Hi Veerle, this post has nothing to do with Ibiza.
I just wanted to let you know that you inspired me to start blogging. I was so impressed with your site, I decided to do the same.
I just purchased expression engine (by pmachine), got it installed and am learning how to use it this weekend.

greetzzz, jan

@Jan, you guessed right I’m Belgian indeed. I guess you mean 12-19 August instead of July ? ;-) I’m here till August 2nd. My 2 favorites clubs are Pacha and El Divino btw. But I’ll be going to Privelege too to check out “Balearic People”, this is a special party where a lot of the visitors are locals. I’ve been to that club 16 years ago when it was called Ku and it had an open roof, so was Amnesia, but nowadays all clubs have roofs (due to sound legislation), even Space (the last one left) will have one next year (unfortunately).
Search for a free magazine called DJ there you’ll find all the necessary club info.

@Jenny, I’ll try to post some pictures of Dalt Vila (the old part of Ibiza town). It’s very nice to hang out, with its small streets and nice views from the top.

Darn, I can’t find a way to contact you besides commenting. Completely unrelated, but your rss feed hasn’t been updating for a while in my reader. I assume it’s just being picky, but the feed doesn’t validate so you might want to check it out.

@Jake: There is nothing wrong with the feed, I Just checked and the only error on feed validator was an accent that wasn’t correct. Now it is fine, but I am sure that error hasn’t caused any trouble.
