Michael once worked at Microsoft, but now has lost his job. He has a weblog and published a photo of a delivery of Apple G5’s on the Redmond-campus. Apparently the people at Microsoft weren’t amused by this and Michael could pack his things and leave…

You can read the whole story on his own weblog where all the trouble started. He said that he thought of security aspects (no other employees on the picture etc.) and he saw no harm in posting this. It’s no public secret that Apple products are being used at Microsoft, one area is software design for example.

But then again Michael should have thought twice, after all he works at Microsoft and I don’t think if I work there I would post something like this. On the other hand it is no big secret that Macs are used to do the software design, packaging, etc. But I wouldn’t make any publicity of this, just for my own safety. Before you are employed by those big software companies you are aware of all company policies like no camera’s allowed, etc… Still it’s a lousy way to loose your job.
