Colors Part II - The Color calculator
2004 at 02.25 am posted by Veerle Pieters
Last week we talked about colors and its relation to design. A lot of helpful tools were posted in the comments but today I came across another one, it’s an interactive color calculator that lets you play with complementary colors. It can even translate your colors into CMYK which can be handy if you also need the colors for print.
The HTML and RGB values are also listed. The calculator has its own clipboard where you copy the information for storage on your own Mac or PC.

I've collected all posted color tools from last Friday here for your convenience:
- ColorMatch
- Colorsheme
- Painter's Picker
- Color Consultant Pro, added at 1.34 p.m.
- Colorschemer
- Adam Polselli's "Get The Look" page
- ColorMatch Remix
Thanks to all readers who have contributed to all this.

I have been reading your site from a long time ago, this is the first time I write you a comment, this time just to say that you’r a genius I love your designs, the choice of colors, your awesome knowledge in css, html, php et cetera, and I hope, someday in a not too distant future, be like you. You’r great and I’m a mess.

Oh my! I have no emoticons at my disposal, but if I did I would use the one with the blush on the cheeks :-) Thanks so much for those nice words.
I know a lot of people who are also designing a blog visit my site and I have no problem in helping or advising my readers were I can. I see it more as sharing thoughts and ideas, because I know I can count on them too whenever I need to. That’s why I think “blogging” is so great.

http://www.defencemechanism.com/color/color_toy_fr.htm -> I love using this one. It kicks so much ass. It also looks better than some of those javascript made thingies, I think.

Very cool tool, even if it is for house painting :)
Great site Veerle, I’m so very glad I found it.

Thank you for the links. I think this is very helpful, because many people dont really design and color a site based on colors that compliment one another.
