Another milestone
2004 at 12.04 am posted by Veerle Pieters
Yesterday was another milestone for my blog. When I started all this with iBlog there were around 10 people who visited my site. When I redesigned the whole thing I got listed on the CSS vault and since then I have around 300 people who visit my blog each day.
That was until yesterday! First my article about “CSS, how to start” got listed on Digital web magazine (thanks Didier) and just when I thought things couldn’t get any better I also got listed on MacSurfer with the possible CSS/XHTML program coming from Apple.
So it is with much proud that I can say that a new record has been set. Yesterday 748 people came by. My imagination puts this people outside on my doorstep in realizing how many that is. Oh my this is super, yes I know great blogs like Jon Hicks “Hicksdesign”, Didier Hilhorst “Superfluousbanter”, Dave Shea “Mezzoblue” and Andy Budd’s blog have way more visitors then this but for me personally this blows my expectations right out off the water ;-)

Congratulations Veerle! I’ve been enjoying your blog for a while now and I love the content and the design - rare to get both in a blog. I always look forward to reading a new entry.
And I don’t get as many as Didier or Dave ;o)

Congrats (again :-))

Looks like quite a few of the people you mentioned are regular readers of your site. Keep up the good work.
4
Congratulations.
As John Hicks said, your blog looks great and always has interesting, well written posts. That’s why when people come here following a link, they come back the next day for more.

It’s a weird feeling to have so many strangers visiting, I know.
But, in my opinion, it’s not so much because of the number of visitors. For instance, when Kottke links me every once in a while, or when Daring Fireball did a while ago, I got lots of visitors and that was really nice, because many of those visitors left comments, or posted an entry of their own in their respective weblogs. That’s nice.
But when I was later Slashdotted, although the sheer number of visitors dwarfed those who came from Kottke and Daring Fireball, there was barely any commenting because of it, the commenting was all limited to the Slashdot article. Thus, the sheer number of people visiting aren’t as heartwarming, if you like, as the number of comments or posts in other blogs.

Grats!
And I’m sure the amount of visitors will even grow :-)
Keep it up!

You’re well-written and put up an interesting post nearly every day – anyone who finds their way here can’t help but keep coming back. Congrats!

love the design, the insights and the spirit of your blog, you say your started using iBlog...but what do you use now?
PS a big thx also to hicks and shea as well

Oh boy BIG thanks to everybody! This sure motivates me to keep on posting ;-)
@bici, I’m using pMachines now, it’s really flexible, but needs a bit knowledge of HTML etc. compared to iBlog. Another tool, if you don’t want to go through much “hassle” and if you are a Mac user is BlogStudio
