A collector’s item?

Apple CEO Steve Jobs used a Dell PC at the launch event for the Windows version of iTunes at the Moscone West auditorium in San Francisco. “I’d like to do something I’ve never done before,” said Jobs. “I’d like to do a demo on a PC."… These photos were snapped by Frederic Larson of the San Francisco Chronicle. This isn’t news per se, but it’s something you’ll probably never see again.

Steve Jobs talks over a video conference phone with Bono of U2, Dr. Dre and with Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones. Bono mentioned at the end that Bill Gates was the ”Pope of Software” and that Steve was the ”Dalai Lama of Integration”. And after some laughs and saying goodbye, thank you etc., Steve gave the iSight camera a kiss ;-) Then the call went over to Dr. Dre in Los Angeles and after that to London. Mick Jagger took the joke of Bono a little bit further by saying he’s the art-bishop of Canterbury, which resulted in another laugh… You have to admit when seeing all this, that Steve Jobs is no ordinary CEO, he’s one of a kind ;-) I can’t imagine Micheal Dell doing something like this.

Since yesterday you can watch this launch event online in QuickTime from the Apple website.
