Arrived in London for @media

This morning around 11 my boyfriend and I departed for @media London. We took the train from Deinze to Brussels, ate a sandwich and then checked in to take the Eurostar from Brussels to London Waterloo. This was my actually my first time I travelled with the Eurostar. Apart from the very poor Dutch by the train manager (it was advisable to pay attention to the French version instead, it was that bad) the trip went smooth.

My newest toys

Since today I’m working on a brand new Apple G5. It took me a while to get things organized and ready to do the production work on it. All those apps to install! But hey, it works like a charm. My new machine is a Dual G5 2,7 GHz with 2,5 GB of RAM. My first impression: this thing flies! There is a big difference with a PowerBook G4 1,5 GHz (with 1 GB of RAM). Things I need to wait a little are now gone.

My travel destination of this Summer

A while ago I asked your advice on my travel destination for this Summer and a lot of you came up with some nice tips and hints. Thing is that there were so many nice destinations that it was difficult to make a choice. Italy was a topper in the comments. I decided to go to a travel agency, get some travel books and do some browsing. My favorite destinations were : Kos, Sardinia, Sicily and Cyprus.

When I received a meme from Andy Budd, first thing I did was hit F12 and look in Dashboard what the hell a “meme” and a “baton” was? And yes I got my answers there, I LOVE Dashboard! So now on to the music maestro!

Geek night out for StarWars Episode III

It might come to a bit of a surprise to some of you since not a lot of girls do love Sci-Fi movies. At least I don’t know any who like Star Trek or StarWars. I’ve always been a fan of movies where a lot of fantasy is involved. It started all when I got to know my boyfriend, he is a Star Trek fan and so I was completely sold from the first Star Trek episode. You could say I’m a ‘late-flower’ into the world of Sci-Fi.

My business site rebooted

It has cost some blood, sweat and tears but it’s finally there. The planning for a new business launch was drawn 2 years ago but work got in the way of executing them. Designing your own portfolio/site is always difficult. After 6 or 7 revisions you could say that we were our own worst client :-)

TIGER today at 6 PM

I’ll bet it is a general feeling among fellow Mac users that it has been a long two weeks since TIGER got announced. Now it is only a matter of counting down the hours until the official launch at 6 PM this evening. I am going to collect my copy at IT Pro in Ghent, not my favourite choice but it is the closest one to home and they can’t mess up a box, however you never know :-p

New corporate identity and logo evolution

39 comments 2005 at 11.35 pm posted by Veerle Pieters

As promised in Monday’s post, here is an exclusive premiere for the readers of Veerle’s blog :-) Our new corporate look has been ready for a few months but the reason why we hold off official usage is because our website isn’t ready just yet. It is al little silly to use new business cards if your website still represents the former look.

May 1st Reboot

It’s been 2 years now that I’m working on a new website for my business and every time other projects got in the way and it gets postponed… Then some time passes and I look at it again with a reaction such as ‘did I create this?!… Yak!’ and I start all over again. This went on and on till somewhere last Summer when I finally got the design part right (version 6 or was it 7?).

My article in Design In Flight

About 8 months ago or so I took a subscription on Design In Flight, a PDF magazine targeted to graphic design professionals and web developers. Soon after I subscribed Andy Arikawa asked me if I would be interested in writing an article for the magazine. I was honored he asked me and of course I said yes, how could I not.
