Yes the lords of the music industry are at again, this time in The Netherlands (and don’t get me started on the Stichting Thuiskopie). Geert and I are listeners of the Daily Source Code from Adam Curry and we love the Mashups, Hit Test from Jan Polet or the Backtracks Podcast Quiz. A fun way to give our brains a good workout.

Time for some music now, when browsing through the ITMS recently I saw that iTunes Music staff added an album that I bought in 2004. NRK’s Nite:Life 20 Miguel Migs - 24th St. Sounds. I think it is about the historic, tree-lined street known as El Corazon de la Misione, or “the heart of the Mission“. Miguel has been on my top list for a long time and after meeting him in Ibiza for a chat the love for his vibe only got stronger. This laid back down to earth guy gets me moving with his latest example of the sunny, jazzy, funky music also known by some as deep house.

It’s Friday, almost weekend so time for some relaxing and laid back Chill out with a taste of Soul and Funk. For me this kind of music is ideal when I’m trying to find some creativity. The CD Nude Tempo One is a release from March 2002, so a while ago but still a great asset to your collection.

Last year I was looking forward to 2005 because I’ve learned that January would bring another edition of the marvelous chillhouse mix compilations by Café del Mar. Café del Mar is the world’s first sunset bar and DJ Bruno has an undisputable taste for the coolest Balearic tunes. He is personally responsible for most of the huge Café del Mar CD collection.

Boy did the time fly this weekend (especially if you’re sleeping most of the time). The need for some shut-eye was due to Tiësto in Concert last Saturday at the Ethias Arena in Hasselt.  I’ve been looking forward to this concert for quite some time and expectations were high due to last year’s concert in Arnhem. That gig and its vibe was pretty hard to beat. After driving for 1,5 hour we arrived at the Ethias Arena around 10pm.
