Like in any aspect of design the attention to details makes a good design perfect. So when all furniture is in place you’ll need some accents to finish it off. It doesn’t come to mind at first instance but there is a fragile beauty called glass. I’ve found a perfect Belgian designer called Anna Torfs that has a gift of breathing life into her colorful glass pieces.

Sometimes I am surprised what is out there and one item that qualifies nicely into this category is a custom made bed called “Float”. I think it’s fair to call this bed design innovative.

Kitchen by Francesco Ravo

One of the more newer trends in modern living is that the kitchen is the central place where everything comes together. I’ve read that it even goes as far as placing the kitchen in the center of the living room. The kitchen is becoming a sort of a lounge to chill. One concept that would perfectly fit that is a design called “Cocina” by Francesco Ravo for Obumex.

Light switches

Light switches and sockets, they aren’t exactly the first things you have in mind when thinking about decorating your home. You should, because they enhance the beauty of a décor. Switches are no longer just plain white, square or invisible. They can provide an impeccably sleek surface to the walls of your home. You can now get decorative plates in a wide range of materials.

Introducing modern home design

Things have been progressing slowly here around the home/office and it is as many people already have said before, it’s a continuous process of improving the surroundings. We bought a lot of interior magazines and did some googling to get inspiration. That is when the idea came to add a new section to the blog that I think could be worthwhile. Ideas enough for improving things around here but the execution is something else :)
