The Modern Home Design category mostly features design for the house or garden but for today’s post we leave our comfort zone in search for an affordable design hotel in Belgium. London, New York and Paris already had them but since a few years Brussels now also has its own ‘White Hotel’.

Nothing as nice as spending the afternoon in a lovely garden enjoying the view. That’s eactly what we did in the previous part 1 and part 2 about Belgian companies that specialize in design outdoor furniture. In this final piece we expand across my border to see what others have to offer. I’m sure there’re more brands out there but I tried to find the ones that have design running through their veins.

It’s Summer time in the Northern Hemisphere and on request of a few readers we look into the world of outdoor furniture design. A sector where Belgian designers apparently are making name and fame abroad. It’s probably due to the fact that we Belgians try to enjoy as much time outside as the weather allows. The garden is becoming an extension of the house and we pay more attention to it.

In our previous Modern home Design article we talked about the ’bath tub becoming furniture‘. Today we explore the bathroom solutions a bit deeper by looking at faucets. I only focus on brands that pay attention to the design of their products. Most of these are not the cheap ones you pick up at the local hardware store but in return you get lifetime quality. Some brands like Hansgrohe actually give that guarantee on both mechanic and finish. Make your chest wet (no pun intended) for a journey through the land of water.

One aspect of living is owning a lot of stuff that needs to be stored in some way. So today we are going to look into the world of ‘dressings’ as it is known here and probably ‘dressing room’ in the United States. Officially it means a small room next to the bedroom to store and hang cloths. There are a lot of solutions out there from antique to modern, for all spaces and budgets.
