How does your working environment look?

I’ve been toying around with the idea of writing an article about this for a while now. You see, for me it’s important to have a cosy office. It affects my creative mind and can’t stand the thought of getting a design job done in an office that gives you a rather depressing or a cold unpleasant feeling.

A while ago I came across an article* about some extreme advanced projects that engineers are working on these days (real or still in concept stage). Here are some of those extraordinary engineering projects:

Security, the reality….

I don’t have to draw a picture on how insecure the PC world is and you would think that with all the media attention people realize that security is serious and necessary. Well think again! Since October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month in the US they conducted a poll at the Digital Edge Expo in Washington, D.C. To put it lightly the figures we’re a bit of a shock to me.

Been enjoying the Indian Summer…

Fall can be lovely especially when all those colors pop-up and leaves starting to fall, but to me it is the messenger that Winter is on its way. Not that I can’t enjoy a skiing holiday or walk in the Alps. You could classify me as a Summer person. Beach and sun are a great way to recharge my batteries, those are the two things I miss most during Winter. If it where up to me I would kick Fall’s ass back into October so that’s why I’m so grateful for the marvelous weather we’ve been enjoying the past two weeks.

Tiësto in concert

Hot news if you’re a big fan of DJ Tiësto and are living in Belgium or Holland. Some of you may remember that Tiësto wrote history in the Gelredome in Arnhem by filling a soccer stadium with 25.000 people. This was a unique event since he was the first to do this and the only DJ that played that night. As you probably know he has been chosen as the world’s best DJ for the second year in a row.

More virtual journeys

Now that Summer is on its way and it's Easter Holiday, it might be the perfect moment to plan your Summer holiday. Let's explore and dream away for a moment... Which destination? Do you have an idea of where you would like to go or do you need some ideas? Well, here is some warming up for you.

nice panormas

Even if you're not planning on going anywhere, you really have to check this website out and enjoy these beautiful VR panoramas. You can view a whole range of panoramas going from Africa (Cabo Verde, Tanzania, Egypt and Tunisia), Central-America (Dominican Republic , Mexico and Cuba), Asia (Maldives) to Europe (Italy, Spain including Ibiza, and Greece).

nice panormas

On the right of the panorama you get an extra option to zoom in and sometimes there is extra content to view, really cool!

This one was too good not to share don't you think? I've bookmarked this site.

Are you suffering from winter blues? There’s only one cure for that a dose of paradise. What flavor would you like exotic beaches, warm turquoise waters, lush tropical jungles or mystic ancient ruins? If you can’t plan a dream vacation today, you can at least enjoy a virtual getaway to paradise via QuickTime VRs. Start your journey in the Pacific islands of Tahiti, Bora Bora and Fiji.

HTML or plain text in e-mail?

Back in the old days when I was starting to use e-mail my preferred client was Eudora, later replaced by Claris Emailer. Things started to become annoying when Outlook Express came around on Mac and the people of Claris decided to stop developing Claris Emailer. Around that period of time HTML based emails started to drop in. Before Mac OS X it was even more frustrating to view these HTML e-mails.
