Normally I don’t spend any time looking at advertising because I don’t watch live TV anymore. We own a HD recorder and we cut out all commercial blocks so that our favorite shows contains no mood spoilers. Once in a while a spot comes along that makes you forget it’s advertising.

A new week started and I hope the creative batteries are fully charged because it’s competition time boys and girls. Told you about it a week or so ago that I would do a creative contest to celebrate the launch of Expression Engine 1.5. Don’t worry if you are not that creative because everybody can join in. A good sense of humor is all you need to make a chance too.

Design means so many different things for so many different people. I remember many years ago when I was designing a logo, a client said “Can’t be that hard, just let the computer do the magic”. Yeah right! What started as a simple desktop has become a meme… Oh no! Call 37signals, it wasn’t me, it was Jon :D

The regular readers that have been around for a while may remember last year’s De-Lurking day. That’s something that got started by Sheryl from Papernapkin. So what’s a lurker? Well that’s probably you ;-)

Today it is about a year ago that we started to have some fun with peeping into people’s offices. I think it would be fun to do this again. Many new people have arrived on this blog since last time and of course things change over time. In my case you’ll see that I don’t use my mirror doors G4 with 22 inch Cinema Display anymore.

What happens if you combine 250.000 multi-coloured bouncing balls and Filbert and Leavenworth Streets in San Francisco? Crazy idea? Maybe, but that’s exactly what Danish director Nicolai Fuglsig did for a Sony product in July this year. It was to announce the arrival of the BRAVIA LCD and 3LCD range In Europe.

I’m still tripping from watching this movie and I didn’t smoke anything ;-) Mother nature goes weird on us?

My buddy Simon already posted it but since there’s bound to be people here that didn’t know about this little gem I posted it here too. Without a doubt the most freaking cool way to browse your album art on a Mac. This is the kind of eye-candy that sits proudly on my Mac screen. If you have a Mac too download the technology demo here.

In the past we already talked about the fact that the decoration of your office has a crucial part in creating the right kind of atmosphere for inspiration.

Never did a guest post before but that was until I received this from a Dutch friend. Text and picture is from Taco Meeuwsen. Hope this one will put a smile on your face ;-)
