It’s been a few years now since I decided to throw all the old school methods out the door and commit myself in supporting Web Standards in every single website project. Today is “Blue Beanie Day”, in honor of Jeffrey Zeldman’s photo on the cover of his book, ”Designing with Web Standards”.

People really seem to like my Illustrator tutorials, but I do receive a lot of e-mail with one common question ”How did you create those curvy lines used in motion trails?” The first thing that you need to master and become proficient in is the Pen tool.

For me it’s usually a bit of fun to talk about a successful finished project. Every design project is a challenge, because it’s always different. Whether it’s a logo design or website design, to me, working on my own projects is the most difficult thing. That’s probably the case for every graphic designer. Because people have mailed me about when the new Duoh.com would be online, I thought I’ll share some of the designs that didn’t make it and explain my thinking process and why I rejected them.
