We never visited South America for an Illustrator so let's visit the land of the Amazon Rainforest.
My name is Ademilson Batista da Silva AKA Adhemas, 26 years old and born in the south of Brazil, São Paulo city, the biggest metropole of Brazil. Graphic Designer and Illustrator, married and I have 2 really nice kids. I love my job and toys.

Adhema's work is very colorful to say the least. Even though he uses so many different colors within the same illustration, each color is carefully chosen and fits in the entire piece. Adhemas discloses his origin as most of his work has this warm southern vibe. The rounded and swirly lines express this feeling even more. What strikes me the most about his work is that he throws himself into each of his pieces. There are no boundaries to his creativity. I really admire that.

What inspires you?
Women beauty, colors, much colors.
What interests you most in an illustration?
Own style, colors and details, attention for small details and complex illustrations as much times I looked at it and each time I discover another detail, another shape hidden, make me ask myself how much crazy is this guy doing this work.

Any insights in your creative process for example: How do you come up with all your inspiring color combinations?
I like to start using some existent colors at Adobe Illustrator in Swatch Libraries to have some reference of tones depending the project and the client, so I use some existent tones and mix with other new tones, browsing and trying to combine everything. The most important thing is to know the global color, if the piece will be more hot, more cold, more pink, earth and this is the big start to mix everything.
What was your best idea so far in relation to your work as an Illustrator?
Best idea was made the Havaianas website using illustration in most pieces, at this point I find my own style, I discover myself talent and it opened space to make much more projects using illustration, that was the best idea I had, be a illustrator too.

Do clients give you complete carte blanche in your work?
Yes, sometimes the client ask me to make what I like to do and it is really positive for me and for the project because I work as free and the project gain much with it. Sometimes I have to follow some rules, I think its normal, as a challenge and there is no problem to me, the most important is always making something different and cool with flavor.
